My partner for the Bead Soup Blog Hop

My partner for the Bead Soup Blog hop is the wonderful Rachel Mallis. She is so nice and sent me the most wonderful soup to play with. I wish I had more time to use everything up that she sent me but life has just been crazy here. I took time to make myself a beautiful necklace and then I was inspired to use the wood chain that she sent me and pair it with something that my son made me a few years ago but I never knew quite what to do with it but thought it would be perfect now. I didn’t think of it soon enough but I want to find a royal blue sari ribbon to run through the chain but since I don’t have that color in my stash I need to order some but ran out of time. I used what I had to give you an idea of what I want to do. I still have some beads left for a few things when I have more time. Rachel also shared some leaves with me that her Grandmother made out of tiny beads. I’m just going to hoard these as they look too fragile to use.  Thank you Rachel for being such a wonderful partner and for the great soup that was so neatly wrapped along with a great letter explaining everything.

Thank you also to Lori Anderson for hosting this hop again, you still put on the best hops. Here’s the link to the rest of the participants.

Hi Delores, The blue and green are lovely together in your first necklace and I like the silver with it. I am amazed how well the piece your son made goes with the wood chain.Yes the royal blue silk will be the perfect accent.

Beautiful designs. That wire work with the glass bead is so clever. The pendant your son made works great with the wooden chain.

Wow. Love the pieces you made; wire wrapping, metal segments, and I’m also a card maker (yours are fabulous) How do you get time to make all these beautiful things. Great job on your soup. That wood chain is amazing, and I love the dichroic glass piece too.

Beautiful work, love the way you used the metal links in the necklace. The threading sari silk through the wooden chain looks wonderful.

The wood chain is fun and adding the sari silk ribbon makes it pop to show off the pendant created by your son.. So glad you were able to incorporate the pendant into a piece you can cherish..

Thank you for your nice comments, I was happy that I finally found something that would go with the piece my son made me. I’ve probably had it as long as the hoarded bead I sent out.

Really interesting pieces! I like the idea of the sari silk in the wooden beads. It really gives them a softer appearance. The hammered silver bars in the top necklace really give it a nice individuality! Great work!

Clever idea to frame the glass focal like that. It’s a lovely necklace, and I think in person it’s likely even prettier.
