Another Embossing Technique

I inked up my embossing folder with Versa Mark and the ink is where all the little hearts are indented. I sprinkled on my gold glitter embossing powder and then heated. I also used the same embossing powder to make the matching brads and also the oval behind my sentiment. The gold at the top is some ribbon that matched perfectly.image

Online Card Class Heat Wave

I decided to take another card class. While I have done heat embossing for many years I’m still learning new things. So much fun.

Scalloped Mothers Day Card

I made this card for a contest over on the Dies R Us blog. The theme was scallops. I also tried out my new flower stamps and dies.image

My latest copper pendants

Copper pendantsThis is what I have been working on this week. The NATPA one is an order for a gal in our tractor pulling group. I tried something new to me and made a Grandmas necklace with the grandkids names as the dangles. Not sure yet if I should take orders on something similar at the craft show or not.

Peace Challenge

image image imageThis summer I had a wonderful opportunity to take some metal smithing classes from Natalie Sorenson here in town.  To end the season she created a challenge to make something with a  kit and use a peace sign in it.

I started with a sketch but nothing seemed to work out. At one point I almost tossed the pendant when I discovered my peace sign was deteriating from too much heat. But I tried again and finally came up with this. I made my own chain, I liked doing that and think I may have to try that again.

Andrew Thornton’s Endless Sky Challenge

I took part in another one of Andrew Thortons challenges. This one is the Endless Sky challenge.

image imageimageI used the neat clay pendant for this first necklace.

I’ve been taking a metal working class this summer so decided to combine some of my new learnt techniques in the second necklace.

First I made the wire pendant and then I made my own links and jump rings to go on it too. I still have to make a clasp for it but was thinking the reveal date was Saturday instead of Thursday.
imageFor the third necklace I decided to use some of the waxed linen that was in the kit and I love how this turned out.

I still have the chip beads left to use and have a necklace planned but ran out of time. I would like to thank Andrew for hosting this swap and also for the gorgeous, generous selection of beads that are always in his kits.

Here’s the list so you can check out everyone else’s creations.
